What is OEE?
OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) is the gold standard for measuring manufacturing productivity. It combines Availability, Performance, and Quality into a single metric. World-class manufacturers maintain OEE above 85%.
Three OEE Components
- Availability: Ratio of actual run time to planned production time. Affected by equipment failure, setup, and adjustment time.
- Performance: Ratio of actual throughput to theoretical maximum speed. Affected by minor stops and speed losses.
- Quality: Ratio of good units to total units produced. Affected by defects, rework, and yield losses.
